EEM exists to place God’s Word into the hands of everyone who requests it, free of charge. Since 1961, we’ve remained committed to one mission: making the Bible freely available to all.

We share God’s Word with the people of Eastern Europe and beyond and seek to educate and inspire God’s servants in this work.
What We Do
Partner
EEM partners with donor stateside and global churches, ministries, and national leaders—joining God’s mission to publish and freely distribute Bibles and Bible-based materials in the 30+ heart languages internationally.
Publish
Before our materials are sent to print, our highly qualified publishing team works hard to ensure the excellent quality of each book. Every year, they coordinate the production of over 150 printing projects for 35+ countries.
Deliver
Since the beginning, EEM has made great strides to deliver on its promise of providing free Bibles and Bible-based materials in native languages to the most unreachable places in Europe and Central Asia where Bibles are inaccessible and unaffordable.
EEM’s Impact
In 2024 alone, more than 2 million Bibles and biblical materials were distributed in over 35 countries and 32 languages. Through schools, orphanages, churches, and prisons, families and communities are being transformed by access to Scripture.

Elmira’s Story—Saved From Addiction
Kyrgyzstan
Before Christ, Elmira’s days in an industrial town in Kyrgyzstan were marked by heavy drinking, frequent quarrels, and neglected children—an exhausted cycle that kept her family in crisis. One afternoon she collapsed in the street from overdrinking; Christian neighbors found her, carried her home, washed and fed the children, and stayed to make sure everyone was safe. They offered gentle counsel about the path of destruction she was on and shared that there was a better way of life through Jesus Christ. They gifted her a Bible.
Elmira brought the Bible home, and she and her husband began to read and pray together. In time, both were freed from addiction and gave their lives to Christ. Today, they host a small house church for people overcoming alcoholism. We have the honor of partnering with the Bible Society of Kyrgyzstan to provide free Kyrgyz-language Bibles, which Elmira and her husband now share with neighbors and those in recovery who gather in their home. One Bible rarely stops at one person—when God’s Word changes a life, it changes many.
Meet Serhiyko—Ukrainian orphan boy starts Bible study in hostpital
Ukraine
Evacuated from war-torn Kupyansk, Serhiyko and his grandmother arrived at a hospital in Kharkiv carrying deep grief—his mother had been killed in recent shelling. While recovering, he asked for a book. Our ministry partners brought a Children’s Bible and a Scripture activity book. As they sat with him, he asked how to pray for another boy taken into surgery, and he asked curious questions about heaven as he processed the death of family.
In the days that followed, Serhiyko began inviting other boys in the hospital—many who had also lost parents—to look through his Bible and color the pages of his activity book. His grandmother soon requested additional Bibles, more activity books, and resources to help her talk with the children about God. We partner with local ministries to provide free Children’s Bibles and activity books that families like Serhiyko’s can share with others.
Our Story
EEM began in 1961 when Gwen and Gayle Hensley followed God’s call to bring the Bible to people living behind the Iron Curtain. What started as covert printing and distribution has grown into a worldwide effort—freely providing Bibles and Bible-based materials in 30+ languages across 35+ nations.
